“For young men under eighteen, wine should be forbidden. Those from twenty to forty should drink moderately, and those over forty may drink as much as they wish to ease the hardships of old age and return to youthful spontaneity…”. Plato, an ancient Greek philosopher.
Do you like the stories about wines and winemaking secrets? Under the category ARTICLES you will find not just some of it, but even more salty tales. Enjoy reading! -
Some plots are based on real events from the author’s personal adventures. The story “Hedger” is completely autobiographical, it is about what the author did as a Commodity Trading Advisor, trading in the US financial markets.
In my writing I use the technique of “alter ego”. The definition means “alternative self” and this technique was used by Ernest Hemingway, one of my respected teachers. -
During World War II, the enemy press called him “the most dangerous man in Europe”. He was a personal commando of Hitler. “The Scarface” is a story how he kidnapped the Italian dictator Mussolini. This story is taken from the commando’s memoirs, his book is in my library. Published in HISTORY & POLITICS section.

Where did the Nazis hide their stolen gold? Did you know that much of it is still undiscovered, waiting for brave adventurers? I wrote the book ‘The Hidden Traces of the Grey Wolf’ using the memoirs of the highest officials of the Third Reich, declassified documents from the archives of the secret services and other rare sources. The stories from this book published in HISTORY & POLITICS section.

How did the beggarly Russians suddenly become the owners of the atomic bomb? While America was helping Soviet Russia fight in WW2 by supporting the Russians through the Lend-Lease program, they were stealing American military and industrial technology secrets through tricky methods. Did you know that under President Roosevelt, there were more Stalinist spies on Capitol Hill than American senators? In the “History and Politics” section, under the general title “ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA,” the repentance of a Stalinist spy who sought political asylum in America are published. He gave all the information about the theft methods to special investigators of the FBI and members of the American government.

Sometimes readers contact me with requests to add more photos and images to my publications. Friends, I do this all the time by editing and illustrating my work over and over again. For writers, this process is called creativity, and it is endless. For example, one of my teachers Ernest Hemingway edited his work 50-150 times. The editing take years and that is why most of his work was published after his death. If, after some time, you go back to my publications, you will find a lot of new edits, both in text and in illustrations. I follow the technique of striking a balance between text and quantity of illustrations. A lot of text – the reader gets bored. Lots of illustrations – the reader does not notice the text and focuses on the pictures.

One of my novella is called ‘CARIBBEAN LOBSTER’. It is a true story when something romantic happens between a rich and successful businesswoman and a bankrupt man who was once rich but lost everything. In this subtle psychological situation, the woman tried to find a compromise solution. So what happened at the end? Sometimes life is unpredictable, when we assume and God disposes…

Want to know about the wine invented for the French king and what English sailors did with that wine? Or who invented Caribbean rum and how pirates drank it? These and other salty tales can be found in the ARTICLES section.

One day in my sea wanderings, I discovered a little corner of the Caribbean. This tropical paradise is hiding in coconut palms and abounds with mangoes, bananas, pineapples, oranges and the unique cashew, the only fruit whose nut is outside the fruit itself. This fruit is native to Brazil and was introduced to the Caribbean by French pirates.
I dropped my anchor in the quiet harbor of this earthly paradise and have lived here for many years. In the green palm trees of the small peninsula, croaking parrots swarm, pelicans make spectacles when they dive from high above in pursuit of fish, and frigate birds soar high in the sky in the sea breeze. I make wine from local fruits, and the descendants of the pirates have nicknamed me ‘The Wineman’.The Caribbean is full of magical exoticism that inspires. Ernest Hemingway lived and worked here, as did Ian Fleming, who wrote all his James Bond novels here — and with good reason!
I have also written six books here, including the humorously titled ‘Da Breezee Belizee’. In this book, I present the results of my research into the region’s history and share the mindset of the locals. I also share my experiences and reveal the secrets of making dry wine from tropical fruits. You can find stories from this book in almost every category on the site. For example, everyone loves geography. But not everyone realizes that this subject likes to joke around and surprise people. When Christopher Columbus discovered the Bahamas, he mistook them for India and called the locals ‘Indians’. The mistake was soon corrected, but the name ‘Indians’ stuck!
Two such stories are ‘The Joke of Madame Geography’ and ‘Who Gave the Country Its Name?’ I call ‘salty tales’, and I’m sure you’ll love them! -
In 1716, King Frederick William of Prussia, the father of Frederick the Great, gave Russian Tsar Peter his yacht and collection from the royal palace in Berlin as a token of friendship. The collection was made of unique Baltic amber of the highest quality. In return, the King received 55 Russian soldiers of two-meter height to guard him. And his unique gift was installed in the Tsar’s palace near St Petersburg, the new capital of Russia, and was named the Amber Room.
In 1941, the Germans pre-empted the Russians who were preparing to invade Europe. Wehrmacht divisions were approaching the city, and Russian troops were hastily retreating. They managed to remove only the furniture from the museum. The Germans no longer believed in friendship after Stalin’s betrayal and so decided to return the gift of the King of Prussia. The Amber Room panels were packed into 22 crates and sent to Königsberg, the capital of East Prussia. There the collection was assembled and put on public display in the royal palace. A few years later, the Germans were retreating. The amber room was dismantled, put into containers and…. disappeared. This unique exhibit was never found….. One day its trace was discovered, and about it is my story ‘Who Stole the Amber Room?’. It is published in the STORIES section.

WHAT WAS THE GESTAPO CHIEF’S LAST MISSION?
In April 1945, a few days before the collapse of the Third Reich, the Führer of the German people disappeared. He was no coward and could have shot himself to avoid falling alive into enemy hands. Every intelligence agency in the world searched for him without success. Decades passed, many secret documents were declassified. Having analyzed declassified FBI files, former UN war crimes investigator John Cencich claims that the Fuhrer of the Third Reich survived and escaped from Berlin. Before him, FBI head J. Edgar Hoover was convinced of the same. Stalin was searched for Hitler until the last days of his life. It seems that the disappearance of Hitler forever remained a mystery to everyone. But if the Führer did escape from besieged Berlin in the last days of April 1945, who helped him to do so? Recruited by the Secret Service after the war, Gestapo Chief General Muller became a special adviser to the US President and helped the FBI purge the American government of Stalinist spies during the Cold War. After the general’s death in the early 1980s, his diaries fell into the hands of a prominent journalist, and a California publishing house once began publishing the series. But the CIA stopped further publication because the diaries contained scandalous information about many politicians…
I was lucky enough to buy what was published. The story of Hitler’s escape as told by the Gestapo chief is published in the HISTORY AND POLITICS category. -
The world community still does not understand the character, mentality, manners and traditions of the inhabitants of a vast country called Russia. This geopolitical entity comprises more than two dozen Asian tribes whose ancestors were invading Europe at the time of Genghis Khan. In the 20th century, under their leader Stalin, one of the main perpetrators of the Second World War, they launched a new invasion of Europe, resulting in the long occupation of the countries of Eastern Europe. In our time, they are intending to repeat their march by starting a war in Ukraine and threatening the world with nuclear weapons, which they managed to steal from the West. The world community has never understood that Russia is not a Christian country, but the Asians who are obsessed with the idea of a new world war.
The category “Journalism” presents a collection of political pamphlets. The cycle of publications about the zombified savages is written in Russian, first of all for those who, pretending to be civilized, hatch plans to destroy civilization. -
My publication “Pirate Atolls” was read by thousand guests of the site, and I received dozens of feedback. People asking me to continue this topic. The theme of pirate lairs and sunken treasure hunters is covered in the publications: “Revenge of the Yellow Idol”, “Fangs of Chinchorro”, “Treasures of the Golden Convoy”, as well as in the story about the adventures of Francis Drake and stories about pirates of the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean. “The third great war will begin when the great city burns”
(from the prophecies of Nostradamus, 1654).On September 11, 2001, America suffered a blow. The symbols of its power, the World Trade Center in Manhattan and the Pentagon, the center of the country’s military power, were attacked. The audacity and brazenness of the attack shook the country and thousands of Americans died.
On that terrible and sad day for all Americans, I promised myself that I would find those responsible. I began to investigate and day after day I gathered information, followed all TV and radio broadcasts and analyzed newspaper articles. Those who lie for a long time are bound to make mistakes, and sooner or later their lies will be exposed.
Many years have passed since then. I found what I was looking for. I found evidence of the blatant lies that propaganda had fed us in the official statements of many politicians and economists, scientists and architects, famous writers and journalists, and top intelligence officers. I have completed my research and will soon offer it to you here. Follow the publications in the HISTORY AND POLITICS section. -
For those who like unknown or hidden facts and mysteries of World War II (1939-1945), I offer chapters from my book ‘Hidden Traces of the Grey Wolf’. One such mystery was Hitler’s disappearance from besieged Berlin. According to the then head of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover, there was nothing in the documents collected by his agency to indicate that Hitler was dead. Stalin, who spent the rest of his life searching for Hitler, was convinced that Hitler was alive and hiding somewhere. Speculation about this had been circulating around the world for years. Fortunately, I found information in rare primary sources and the memoirs of officers from Hitler’s inner circle. The results of my research are published in the chapter ‘How Stalin searched for Hitler’.

The true story ON THE OTHER SIDE OF DESPAIR is published in three parts, two of which are in English. I proved with my life that a desperate person can do the craziest things to fulfill his dreams. This is a story about the value of freedom and how true freedom should be understood. In STORIES section.

The twentieth century was full of bloody dramas. Marxism spread rapidly, spawning spiders such as fascism, socialism, Nazism, Zionism, anarchism, and others. The preachers of these ideologies conducted wild experiments in many countries, and tens of millions of people became their victims. It is naïve to think that humanity was saved from the poison of these doctrines with the defeat of fascism and Nazism in World War II, and of Stalinist socialism with the end of the Cold War. The spiders are live, and their experiments on human beings continue to this day.
Every child is born curious. However, many lose this curiosity as they grow up, becoming immersed in the mundane reality of life and influenced by propaganda. People live by myths and allow dogma to become intertwined with their consciousness. In search of truth, I studied religious teachings. I soon became convinced that they are even more mythical than political theories and contain more hatred than love.
Then I decided to study the works of philosophers. Some of these were the product of abnormal thought processes, with the authors attempting to glorify themselves in history. They incited the masses to kill, and the High Spirit punished them by removing their reason. You cannot find happiness by making others miserable. As the classic Russian writer Leo Tolstoy once said, ‘The world is run by madmen. Normal people can’t…’I started studying the work of sociologists. They observe people’s habits and explain their vices.
‘He who knows how to mislead the crowd easily becomes its master, but he who tries to educate it always becomes its victim.’ This was said by the French sociologist, Gustave Le Bon. He shed piercing clarity on people’s weaknesses and politicians’ crimes. I trust sociologists more than philosophers. My interest then turned to the experiences of people who had lived through the war, witnessed death and endured hardship. I started reading books and diaries written by soldiers who had fought on both sides. In their accounts, I found what I was looking for. I realized that the truth always lies in the neutral zone between the trenches. Politicians steal the soldiers’ glory and leave them with the shame of defeat. They also hide the truth of the trenches from the public.
By studying events and facts, comparing expert judgements and establishing cause-and-effect relationships in search of the truth, I became convinced that politicians and servile scientists always present a distorted version of history to the public. So I decided to write my own book about the wars and revolutions of the twentieth century and the experiments that politicians conducted on people. My aim was to explain how propaganda replaces rational thinking with nonsense. My arguments are facts laundered from the lies of politicians. I called my book ‘History for Dummies’. -
I once got the idea of writing a love story about two people whose passions were entwined. However, I soon found that outsiders were interfering with my work. They insisted that I include them in the tale. They argued that without their involvement, the story would lack intrigue. I tried to contradict them, pointing out that other people’s advice, particularly regarding intrigue, can be detrimental to a couple’s love. This is why I prefer to write short novellas with a limited number of characters rather than long stories. But they were stubborn. They told me not to show off, but to keep observing, listening, and writing. You can now read the result in novella ‘Fishing for Two’.

On 22 November 1963, the 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, was assassinated in Texas. The daring assassination of the President in broad daylight came as a shock to America. The whole world loved John, he was the hope and symbol that America would remain the republic of freedom, a beacon for all mankind. John had crossed a dangerous line, naively believing that the President and Congress, comprised of the people’s elected representatives, had all the power and authority.
In January 2025 back in the White House for a second term, President Donald Trump has promised to declassify documents from the investigation into the assassination of John F. Kennedy. This has been done. But the world has not learnt anything new, and the topic continues to be rubbished by many media outlets.
In that year President John F Kennedy issued some important executive orders, knowing he was playing with fire. But he didn’t back down. Shortly before his assassination, the President made a statement to members of the US Congress in which he named his killers. You can read about it in the publication ‘Castrated Republic’.

Alex was a vicious romantic sea adventurer by nature. On shore he chased skirts, drank in dubious company, and spent his nights in what moralists call a debauched atmosphere. Alex himself considered his lifestyle normal, saying that saints exist only in heaven or on icons, and on earth all people are sinners. He was as gullible with women and drinking buddies as he was with himself. As a result, he was often the victim of his kindness.
But is there a vaccine for sin? Unless you lock yourself up in a monastery. The devil whispered to him that the only way to be cured of the torment of temptation is to give in to it. In the end Alex gave in and accepted his fate as it came to him. He became convinced that he can not run away from people or hide from temptation. The chance to fence yourself off from everyone exists if you have money to pay for your freedom. But if you don’t have money, you have to compromise with yourself and adjust your life habits.
The luck smiled unexpectedly. In a harbor tavern he met a friend with whom he had once been on long voyages. Friend gave him the coordinates of the recruitment center. So Alex got into a shipping company, whose fleet was engaged in transportation of small cargoes in the Mediterranean Sea and the Adriatic.Seafarers often witness mysterious forces of nature, and what they see in the ocean with their own eyes, science is often powerless to explain. What they see on the verge of mysticism has always made them superstitious, and even today, when ships are loaded with electronics, the seafarers still believe in omens.
One day, something incredible happened to Alex. He was visited by a strange alien, who materialized into a living being. Any other person would be scared to death, but Alex has seen a lot in his sea adventures. All night he spent in conversations with the mysterious guest; they drank wine, and the alien revealed to him the secrets of the art of conquering women’s hearts, taught him the magic of influence and gave advice on how to succeed in society, using the vices and weaknesses of people.
Do you want to touch the mystery of this magic? It is in my novella THE MYSTERY NIGHT IN VENICE. -
Shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War, a spy network operating across Europe collected information and transmitted it to Moscow. Radio operators within the network sent messages from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and France. This is widely regarded as one of the most successful examples in history of establishing an extensive spy network in enemy territory. It was an orchestra of informants. The German word for ‘orchestra’ is ‘Kapelle’. This story was uncovered in the diaries of Gestapo chief and SS general Heinrich Müller.
You can read it in the History & Politics section. -
In my humorously titled book, Da Breezee Belizee, I explore the mindset of the locals through a series of sketches. Examples include ‘Thieves and Theft in Earth Paradise’, ‘Are We Different from Monkeys?’, ‘Once I Owned a Fishing Boat’ and ‘Three Piglets’. You can find these and other salty tales in the ARTICLES category. I’m sure you’ll love them! Here is one:
STORY ABOUT GREED
Do you know how to catch a monkey? In their natural habitat, hunters place a heavy box with holes in it on the ground. They then pour roasted nuts into the box to use as bait. A monkey hides in the nearby foliage and watches the commotion, the smell of the roasted nuts teasing her nose. When the hunters leave, the monkey jumps down and approaches the box curiously. She puts her paw in a hole and grabs a handful of nuts. However, she cannot get her fist out. She sticks her other paw in a different hole, but the same happens again.
The monkey cannot grasp one simple fact: if she opens her fist and lets go of the nuts, she will be free! Greed has overtaken her consciousness! So the foolish creature is trapped, a victim of its greed. In our village, it is possible to catch snapper, barracuda and even large grouper by fishing from the shore. However, these fish feed on the rubbish accumulated on the seabed. The tastiest fish are pelagic and inhabit the offshore coral reef. This is where the fishermen take their boats. They return in the late afternoon to sell their catch to the locals. They fillet the fish and throw the rest, including the heads, back into the sea. Huge seabirds, such as frigates and pelicans, circle above, waiting to catch their prey. They dive in for it, and this spectacle attracts crowds of locals and tourists.
Locals buy fillets of tuna, mackerel, snapper, dorado and other fish that have been caught by local fishermen. But why throw away the heads? They make great soup! Perhaps they throw them away because there are so many fish in the sea.
I once watched a fisherman cutting up a huge yellowfin tuna. As he always did, he was going to throw the head back into the sea. I asked him if I could have it.
“You can have it,” he said, nodding.A few days later, I approached him again with the same request for a fish head. This time, he asked for five local dollars, which was the equivalent of two-and-a-half US dollars. That was fine by me, so I paid. As a courtesy, I also gave him a bottle of beer and one of my cigars. I used to be a fisherman myself and simply wanted to thank him for his hard work.
However, I made a rash mistake. And had fallen into the ‘local mentality’ trap, once again. The third time I asked him to sell me a fish head, he just shrugged: ‘Well… I don’t know…”. He continued cutting up the fish with a knife. Embarrassed by his refusal, I bought fish from less greedy fishermen.
One day, I heard him mutter behind me, ‘Damn you, stranger.’ He was angry because he had lost me as a customer. But had he realized that he had punished himself with his greed? These days, fishermen don’t throw away fish heads because they are in demand. And frigates and pelicans are left with guts and tails. Our naivety leads us into a trap. Are we any different from that monkey?

MY TEACHERS IN WRITING.
During my years at sea, I experienced dangerous, amusing and romantic adventures. Many of these stories have found their way into my writing. World-known authors such as O. Henry, Ernest Hemingway and Erich Maria Remarque were my literary influences. From the former, I learnt of restrained humor in narrative and thought-provoking endings. From the highly regarded Hemingway, I learnt his rule of editing every sentence of a story. Once, when offering advice to a novice writer, he joked: ‘Write drunk — edit sober’. A rule proven by practice!
Indeed, alcohol is the cousin of inspiration. Then comes the years of polishing, and that is creativity. Hemingway edited his works dozens and hundreds of times. That’s why all of his major works came to readers after his death. What was Remarque’s writing secret? In his youth he was writing and publishing. And for 10 years he was thinking to wright the story about war in which he was a soldier. Finally, he wrote a novel ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ in just two weeks. With this novel, the author touched the hearts of millions. Having found what he was looking for, Remarque put his previous works into the archives.
When I was young, I was fascinated by the poetry of Alexander Blok, Nikolai Gumilyov, and Sergei Esenin. I started reading their magical poems when I was just four years old. However, after losing my parents and ending up in an orphanage, I became a victim of the system I despised. I became cynical and lost my ability to write poetry. I loved novellas with twisted plots by Maupassant, Mérimée and Bunin. And I started writing poetic prose myself. That’s how the novella ‘The Gypsy girl from Lisboa’ came about. On the website it has already been read by over 16,000 people from 15 countries. I’ve received lots of comments. In English version, I adapted the original lyrics of the gypsy romance slightly. After all, English is a different language and culture.

THE SECRETS OF WWII THAT HISTORIANS KEEP HIDDEN.
For decades after that war, the Kremlin continued to accuse Germany of launching a treacherous attack on the Soviet Union in June 1941. But this is a lie. Here is the backstory.1)On 13 April 1919, the German Marxists proclaimed a Soviet republic in Bavaria, taking advantage of Germany’s defeat in the war. Terror began, as it had in Russia. The bandits were financed by Moscow. The German patriots, under the war minister Gustav Noske and Franz von Epp, stopped the bloodshed. They shot the Marxist rebels, including Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht. Those who escaped fled to Lenin and Trotsky in Moscow. There, they established the ‘Comintern’, plotted a global conspiracy and threatened Europe with a new war.
2) Following Lenin’s death, Stalin began preparing his army for an advance on the West. He tricked American specialists, inviting them into building factories for him, and with their help, militarised Russia’s entire industry in a short time, 10 years.
3) Europe retaliated, and the threat of a new war paved the way for the rise of fascism in Italy and National Socialism in Germany. In 1924, the war veteran and party leader Adolf Hitler published his political manifesto in his book ‘Mein Kampf’. In it, he declared war on Bolshevism, which was threatening Europe.
4) In 1933, the German people elected Hitler to the Reichstag, for his pledge to regain the lands lost by Germany under the infamous Treaty of Versailles. However, just two months later, in March of that year, the Rothschild financial empire, acting on behalf of the global Jewish community, initiated an economic boycott of Germany. They did not want another European empire that refused to borrow money from them.
By 1938, Hitler had regained back to Germany almost all of the seized land and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for that. He was named ‘Man of the Year’ by the Times magazine of New York.5) However, a dispute over East Prussia, which had been awarded to Poland, escalated into military conflict. The Rothschild empire exploited this, forcing the French and British governments to declare war on Germany.
6) In August 1940, the Germans were preparing for ‘Operation Sea Lion’, which involved an invasion of Britain by land, sea and air. Around this time, Hitler received reports from military intelligence and diplomats that in Moscow, Stalin was deploying his troops to the border regions. Of the 151 infantry divisions, 96 were already stationed on the German border. There were also 23 cavalry divisions and 28 mechanized brigades concealed in the forests. More troops kept arriving to join them.
For the Reich’s military top brass, the accumulation of Soviet offensive artillery units on the border that were not required for defence purposes was the decisive factor in determining whether Stalin was preparing to attack Germany. The Germans did not have any such troops. Hitler realized that his ‘friend’ in the Kremlin was planning to exploit the situation by invading Europe while the majority of German troops would be stationed on the other side of the English Channel. He cancelled ‘Operation Sea Lion’, redeployed the Wehrmacht troops to Poland, and ordered the General Staff to develop ‘Operation Barbarossa’ (from the memoirs of the highest ranks of the Third Reich).
When Stalin learned of Hitler’s new plan, the need for an intelligence network arose once more. In 1940, the Kremlin ordered Leopold Trepper to set up a spy network in Western Europe. Networks were set up in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland, and then expanded.
You can read the whole story about that spy network published here under the title ‘DIE ROTE KAPELLA’.
